The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse has adjourned for the final time. The Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull and Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten were present inside the packed Hearing Room. A wonderful opportunity for final reflections and to re-connect and converse with advocates, victims, community leaders engaged in healing, Commission members and the exceptional Chrissie Foster.
For the Jewish community it began in February 2015. I have been asked repeatedly this morning as to the attendance of Jewish communal and organizational leadership. Now, as almost three years ago, in December 2017 leadership remains absent. What does one say?
