The lack of community leadership in regard to their presence - or absence at the Final Session of the Royal Commission was greatly disturbing - it has been noted and is being condemned by many. The release of statements in the days that follow is far from adequate. Nor is it adequate to suggest the Rabbinic problems sit only in the laps of Chabad... there was/is a whole body of Rabbinic leadership that failed when they allowed their leaders to fail. Thankfully, many in the wider Rabbinic space are looking to change... Change, particularly in the culture of leadership in many spaces is something that will need to be addressed for positive steps and outcomes in the future.
